Henry Yan began his art education in China were he was exposed to the great Russian masters. He studied electrical engineering in China, but his love of art continued, and eventually he moved to the United State where he studied at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. He counts among his major influences Repin, Levitan, Fechin and Sargent. A member of teh faculty at the Academy of Art College since 1996, Yan is the author of the acclaimed book "Henry Yan's Figure Drawing: Techniques and Tips." His work is held in private collections and galleries worldwide.
